Veneers
The principle of all-ceramic dental veneers is like a manicure. The porcelain veneers cover the original teeth to quickly adjust the color, shape, length, arrangement, etc. of the teeth. All-ceramic dental veneers not only have a whitening effect, but can also improve problems such as excessive gaps between teeth, broken teeth, and irregular teeth arrangement, allowing patients to regain a neat and white smile.
All-ceramic dental veneers are only about 0.2-0.5mm thick and are mainly made of ceramics. The color and luster are close to real teeth. They are also highly compatible and will not irritate gums. Their hardness is also comparable to real enamel, and they are not easy to peel or abrade.
All-ceramic Dental Veneers Process
1. Molar Impression
To make room for all-ceramic dental veneers to be installed, the dentist will first grind off a small amount of the patient's tooth surface. After grinding the teeth, the dentist will take an impression of the teeth or scan the teeth, and then use glue to install temporary all-ceramic dental veneers to protect the patient's teeth and allow the patient to experience the feeling of installing all-ceramic dental veneers.
2. Try-on Evaluation
After the dental film is completed, the dentist will remove the temporary all-ceramic dental veneers for the patient and try on the real all-ceramic dental veneers. Evaluate whether the color, tooth shape and bite of the all-ceramic dental veneers are satisfactory, and what modifications are needed.
3. Install All-ceramic Dental Veneers
If the patient is satisfied, the dentist will use adhesive to fix the all-ceramic dental veneer, and then use a light to ensure that the all-ceramic dental veneer is completely bonded to the teeth. After bonding, the dentist will check the effect again and grind away excess parts and edges if necessary to make the teeth look more natural.
All-ceramic Dental Veneer Maintenance
As long as they are properly maintained, the lifespan of all-ceramic dental veneers can be as long as 10 or more than 20 years, making them the most durable method of teeth whitening. To extend the life of all-ceramic dental veneers, patients need to pay attention to the following:
· Avoid eating overly hot or cold drinks and food
· Reduce drinking coffee and foods that can easily stain teeth
· Avoid biting hard foods, such as crab shells, hard-shelled fruits and other foods that can easily cause damage to your teeth.
· Brush and floss frequently every day. Even with all-ceramic dental veneers, there is still a risk of tooth decay on your original teeth.
· Teeth cleaning and follow-up examination every six months
